I suddenly found my touchpad is not working. It was working normally last night.

Its current state is: no respond upon touching it; double-touching up the upper left courner also no response(if it's working normally, the little light will light up AND THEN the touchpad will stop working coresspondingly.)I have tried following methods:

Dell Latitude E5540 :: Unknown Device Driver

I have been running in to an issue lately with a Latitude E5540 laptop.
The specs are:
Intel i5 cpu @ 1.9 ghz
4 gb RAM
x32 Windows 7
In my device manager it says that I have an unknown device and there is the warning symbol next to it. When I go to update the drivers it says that it can't find any drivers (I am connected to the Internet). I looked at the hardware ID and noticed that it was APCISMO8810, I then proceeded to research the driver, which I found was the ST Microelectronics Free Fall Sensor Driver. I also know what it's primary function is.
The issue I keep running in to is that I have uninstalled the driver, and tried to re-install the driver from the Dell downloads. However halfway through the process the install wizard tells me that the most recently updated driver from dells site is older than the driver I currently have installed. (even though it says there is no driver installed)

Dell Inspiron 15R 5521 :: Bluetooth Unknown Device Driver Failure?

recently purchased a Inspiron 15R 5521 from Dell Australia and took me a few weeks to install and setup the the system the way I want.
Today, I tried to enable bluetooth but the slider won't move to On mode, so I checked Device Manager and Bluetooth device was labeled as Unknown device.
So I checked my service tag numbered driver updates and there's a Intel Centrino Advance-N 2230 15.5.6.48 A02 driver update, so tried updating to that driver. But it returned device not configured correctly and prompting me to reinstall driver. Reinstalling driver fails with code 1 error.
Maybe something physically wrong with the Bluetooth side of the hardware ??? Anyway to confirm such without doing a full factory image restore as it took ages for me to setup the system the way I want !
I've tried, uninstalling the bluetooth device from device manager and restarting Win 8 and reinstalling device via hardware change detection Tried uninstalling Centrino driver and installing previous version of the driver

I installed everything one be one. All works BUT ONE device is not recognised... Here are some details of it:
It says Unknown device (in Other devices group) with yellow exclamation mark. Location - on PCI Express Root Complex. bios device name - _SB. PCI0.ACEL, hardware ID - ACPI VEN_HPQ& DEV_0004. That's all i have about this device.

I went to Dell support site and to the drivers and downloads page for my Service Tag.Under the Chipset section there is an Intel driver for AMT HECI. Installing that driver solved the PCI Simple Communications item.
Also under Chipset there is an Intel driver AMT SOL. I installed that driver but the PCI Serial Port was still showing Unknown with the Yellow..In my case I had to then manually Update the driver as follows:
Open Device Manager > right click on PCI Serial Port and choose Update driver > choose Browse my computer and browse to the driver folder for the AMT SOL just created when you downloaded and installed the driver mentioned above. Location for me is C:DellDriversR279202.

I'm using the W540 with an ultradock and external monitors. After upgrading my W540 to win8.1 64 bit, device manager is showing an unknown device. I'm not quite sure what it is, but almost everything seems to be working fine and Lenovo solution center isn't finding any driver updates.
I did notice that the solution center hardware scan did not test the video card memory and listed that test as N/A. Video and monitors seem to be working fine though and both nvidia and intel graphics show up in device manager.

Maybe it has something to do with the finger scan (biometric)? This hasn't been working very good lately..Even when there's no single USB device installed (normally I have a mouse and a Targus laptop chill mat installed as USB devices), it keeps popping up. I tried deleting the USB port from the list (or uninstall it) in Device control, but it seems it keeps happening.
I suddenly got it, I did nothing specific of did not connect any strange devices (except for a projector on the external monitor exit, but that has nothing to do with USB). I also hear the sound for connecting and disconnecting USB devics randomly when I'm on my laptop.

I just finished doing a clean install of Vista SP1 on my new Studio 1537. Everything has gone well, however when I checked Device Manager I have one device with an exclamation mark next to it. When I clicked on the unknown device properties it tells me that it is 'Intel(R) ICH9M LPC Interface Controller - 2919' I've looked all over Dell's Driver and Download site and I can't find the driver for this device nor do I know what category I should look under. When I contacted Dell's support they wanted me to unistall the device and overwrite my current BIOS version, A07, with an older version, A05. I decided that wasn't the best way so I thought I'd ask here hoping someone could help. After my install I loaded the drivers in the following order per Dell's directions: Notebook System Software, Chipset, Audio, Video, NIC Card, Dell Quickset, Wireless NIC, Touchpad. I didn't download and install the SATA drivers from Dell's website because my drive model isn't one of the ones listed for use with the driver. My drive is listed as a ST9320320AS. I'd appreciate any help someone can offer.
