May 26, 2017 - Vba Auto Increment File Name Is Too Long. How to return multiple values using vlookup in excel. But there is a work- around to identify multiple matches. Although VLOOKUP is not used in these array formulas, they are easier to understand and troubleshoot. Table of Contents. Return multiple values.
I wonder whether someone could help me please. Using a script I found online as a 'base' I've written the query below.
Sub Test() Dim wb As Workbook Dim ThisSheet As Worksheet Dim NumOfColumns As Integer Dim RangeToCopy As Range Dim RangeOfHeader As Range 'data (range) of header row Dim WorkbookCounter As Integer Dim RowsInFile 'how many rows (incl. Header) in new files?
.SaveAs Filename:=fNameAndPath & ' File ' & WorkbookCounter, FileFormat:=xlCSV ' ^^^ That looks like an invalid name, since fNameAndPath is already the path and name of an Excel file, something like C: Folder something.csv, so it can't be a folder. You are trying to have a in the saved file's name? If what you want is to create different files in the same folder of the csv file you just opened, you can use _ (underscore, or any other character acceptable by the OS in file names).
So you can try instead:.SaveAs Filename:=fNameAndPath & '_File ' & WorkbookCounter, FileFormat:=xlCSV ' ^^^ EDIT After better understanding your requirements, regarding the file naming and the splitting that you want to achieve, I have re-factored your code. Basically I remove the file's extension before adding 'File x.csv' to the name. I also removed Copy/Paste stuff in favor of assigning values (which should go faster) since you are generating a csv so you don't want any formats, just values. Some comments in the code further qualify the approach.
Sub SplitWorksheet() Dim rowsPerFile As Long: rowsPerFile = 50 ' 0 Then MsgBox Err.Description If Not wbToSplit Is Nothing Then wbToSplit.Close False Application.ScreenUpdating = True: Application.DisplayAlerts = True End Sub.
Hello, I have a number of different files that I often need to run a macro on. In order for me to do it on the 75-100 files I have at any given time, I need to open one, run the macro, close and save, then open the next one. Is it possible to write a macro that will start with the first file in a folder, open it and update links, run a macro, save and close, and open the next file in the folder until it has open all the files in the folder. I have experience with creating macros that reference different workbooks, but not sure how to go about opening files with different filenames (without referencing the exact filename). I'd like to be able to have basic code for opening, saving and closing, opening next file, saving and closing, etc.

And input the macro I'd need to run in each file in the appropriate location. Is this possible?
Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks, Jason. I have a file that became too big due to phantom bloat, unused range saved by Excel and all that kind of reasons. Thank to previous posts on that board tackling that issue, I was able to find how to proceed to reduce the file back to its normal size. But I did so in a beta file (test file). The real file has become so big (103MB!) that Excel cannot even open it anymore!
The file contains archive info that we do not have anywhere else. Is there anyway then to open the file or to reduce its size without opening it (through magics.)?
Borland C Builder 6 Download Portable Ccleaner. I just honestly don't know how to retrieve that info before deleting that file. Thank you very much for your help. I know this question has been asked a bajillion times, so I apologize for the redundancy. I am working with an Excel spreadsheet and saving it as a.csv file in order to upload to an application that parses out the.csv data as transactions. The system requires.csv files, so this is how I need to save my doc (with this extension). I have been successful at preventing Excel from coverting that long number into scientific format.
